Charlotte
Mother
Finding a Sense of Freedom

Charlotte attended the ‘Free yourself from Fear’ workshop and wanted to know how she could move from the position of feeling stuck and not knowing what she wanted.

Her story and language were centred on what she couldn’t do. Charlotte was so caught up in her story she was unable to consider what was possible. At this point, the group completed a simple exercise, to remember and acknowledge achievements from the past, recently and also from that day.

Charlotte feedback to the group and shared a dream she had when she was younger to live on a Native American Indian reserve which seemed way out there at the time.
However Charlotte’s dream did materialise, she had volunteered her time in Peru amongst the Latin American Indians. Her experience led her to adopt 2 Peruvian children. As she told the story, she had a massive ah-ha moment. She had never acknowledged what she had done, achieved and what it took. For the rest of the workshop Charlotte was open she had found a sense of freedom to be creative and self-expressive. This enabled her to create an audacious goal involving returning back to Peru.

I can go the distance regardless of the many challenges

After several conversations with Maureen, I as a business owner can say I have benefited from her advice and guidance.

Engaging questions that have stayed with me from casual coaching sessions with Maureen:

  • Are you running a business or are you self-employed?
  • What is was your purpose for wanting to start a business and is it still the same?
  • Will your target audience always remain the same?
  • Does your target audience need your product and services?
  • Is your USP actually unique or is it really broad and weak?
  • What is stopping you from moving forward to the next phase of your business plan?

The powerful thing about these questions that Maureen was asking, was that she never once told me the answers to them. I surprisingly knew the answers based on the approach of self-thinking that Maureen encourages through a series of follow-up questions and motivational prompts.

Since I’ve been having these coaching sessions with Maureen my business has evolved not only financially but structure-wise. I am now asking myself those very same questions every single day to make sure that I am constantly moving in the direction I need to be.

Maureen has helped me to be confident in myself and my business. Believing in myself and my goals. Supporting me in realising that I can go the distance regardless of the many challenges that the world of business may bring.
